Cyber-Physical Systems: Computer Science Perspective

Existing systems are getting more complex, demanding more functionalities. This necessitates tight integration and coordination between computation (cyber parts) and physical processes, yielding the notion of cyber-physical systems (CPSes). In this talk, I explain concepts and challenges of CPSes, and then introduce how to approach CPS problems from the computer science perspective. As an example, I present my ongoing work for battery management systems. Instead of advancing physical batteries themselves, the performance of battery systems can be improved by manipulating cyber parts.
